On Tuesday August 23, PLM Lake Management treated the phragmites (an invasive tall reed like plant) at several locations on the lake. If you didn’t see them, maybe you heard them since they used a large airboat. They plan on returning either the week of September 12 or 19 to treat several patches of Eurasion watermilfoil in the northeast and northwest corners of the lake. If you are not familiar with this invasive weed you can Google it to see pictures. If you identify any of it in the water near your property please notify us so we can add it to the treatment list.
These are before and after pictures of a large patch that was treated two years ago on the northwest side of the lake. As you can see the treatment is pretty effective but we have to keep vigilant – they keep coming back.
