The Bear Lake sunfish sailing season ended with the annual Labor Day Gordie Howe Regatta. A dozen boats raced the lake on a beautiful, windy Bear Lake day.
The three “trophy races” are held on the 3 summer holiday weekends:
Jim Vervisch won the Randy Omer Memorial Race with the “Pirate Ship”.
Wayne Nesbit won the Bear Lake America’s Cup with his “Smiley Face” sailboat.
Rich Vervisch won the Labor Day Gordie Howe race with the Red/White & Blue.
All are invited to join in next year. Whether sailing or just watching, the colorful sails add to the fun of the holiday weekends on this magnificent lake.
