Thank you to all who participated – about 30 boats – and joined in the spirit of this great holiday. It’s was a tough decision but due to the creative addition of musical accompaniment, the winner of the 2014 boat parade is Jim Eckland and his twin sons, Joseph & Mitchell, of Hillcrest.
All the other pictures I received are on the Photo Gallery tab. There were some very deserving winners among them.
Jim wrote, “We were one of those “rogue boats”. Didn’t know it, just followed the 5 boats in front of me. Here is a couple of pictures of our boat. My twin 12 year old sons Joseph and Mitchell were playing patriotic songs on their tuba (Joseph) and trumpet. They had a riot and I think the people liked it also; at least they cheered for them! Our neighbor Bree TerHar was waving the red, white and blue “ribbon” banner. It was fun; this was our second year doing it. Thanks for organizing it.”
