Each year the boat decorations get better and better. This year there were 32 boats in the parade. Thank you to all who participated and joined in the spirit of this great holiday. Mark Neracher on the south end of WBLR and Laura Marklewitz Miller on Birchcrest were kind enough to take photos of all that cruised by their places. If we missed you, I apologize. Send me a picture of your boat and I will post it with the others.
Selecting the “Best-in-Show” was difficult. So instead of one, I picked two! One is Sue Tucker on WBLR in the top photo. She writes “Husband Shane (who is a musician) pulled double duty playing (mostly) patriotic music on his trumpet while also piloting our boat. At one point he slipped into playing “Oh Canada”, saying he just wanted to be neighborly!”
The 2nd boat winner is: “We are the Smelker family, we have a seasonal home on Hillcrest Blvd. we have enjoyed entering in the boat parade with our triplet teens for many years! Our daughter Rianna and her friend created the Statue of Liberty theme. :)”
The other 30 boat photos are on the Photo Gallery tab.
